After a very rainy spring, the sun is finally shining on the Sunrise Trail! Today, my wife and I took the four-up for an inaugural excursion. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day, sunny with a crisp breeze.
The trail was quiet except for a few critters along the way. A molting grouse hopped about unable to fly, but it was quite the showboat with its tail feathers. Bright yellow butterflies flitted around the machine the entire trip. An osprey with a wing span of at least three feet darted between tall pines. And a turtle was good reminder to be attentive on the trail - not all large objects are rocks. We assured he made it to the nearby pond.
We stopped in Franklin for quick lunch of fresh sausage pizza before continuing on for a quick swim in Molasses Pond with views of the country's largest windmills in the distant. Time for a nap!
